The Range Rover Sport SVR is Fast in Any Environment

This morning the folks at Land Rover released an incredible video of their high performance SUV, the Range Rover Sport SVR. If you are into cars at all, you know that the 0-60 time is one of the stats quoted the most for comparing performance. In Europe it’s the 0-100 kmh test, which translates to roughly 62 mph. In the video we see the professional driver recording the time at the track, which is very common. What makes this particular video great is we see him running another acceleration test, but this time on grass, then followed by snow, then sand, then mud and also gravel. For good measure the driver climbs a rock wall. Well, why not?

If you don’t know much about the Range Rover Sport SVR, know this: it features a 550-hp supercharged V8, which does the all important 0-60 test in just 4.7 seconds on pavement. Be sure to watch the video for yourself, but the other times are listed below with some comparisons to give you an idea of how fast this SUV really is. You really have to see it to believe it. It’s worth noting that each test was done on the same standard Michelin 275/45 R21 All Season Tires.

Gravel: 5.3 seconds (compared to a 2012 Porsche Boxster Base at 5.5 seconds)

Grass/Sand: 5.5 seconds (compared to a 2009 BMW Z4 3.0i at 5.6 seconds)

Mud: 6.5 seconds (compared to a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro V6 at 6 seconds)

Snow: 11.3 seconds (compared to a 2017 Toyota Prius at 10.3 seconds)
